artist statement

Margina Gabriel has always had a passion for art and beauty. She believes that people’s lives are enriched when they surround themselves with beautiful things, or choose to think creatively. Her B.A. degree from Chatham College focused on art and biology. Her M.Ed. from the University of Pittsburgh, in counseling, led her into a full time career as a school counselor.
Over the years, Margina has put mothering, homemaking, and her counseling career first while pursuing her passion for art in her spare time. She has worked in the media’s of printmaking, quilting and painting. It has been natural for Margina to bring beauty into the lives of others by helping to create inviting homes, gardens, and presenting food thoughtfully and attractively. Now that Margina’s children are adults she is pursuing her art career by focusing on paintings and mosaics.
